It's Hot in Arizona

Heather, Diane, Austin and Wayne
While waiting for friends to arrive back home we enjoyed a Sunday afternoon with the McMinns.  Heather is a best friend of my daughter Stacey.  We shared a nice meal and each others company. Lauren and Taylor are growing up fast and it was good to see them.

We met many years ago in Prudhoe Bay Alaska and have been friends ever since. Ken and Danna Jedd are from Arizona and Eric and Erica Mills are from England. The Fosters, from Cape Cod, spent 9 days house and puppy sitting in Arizona while the others were in Sturgis, SD for bike week.

They all came back to 114 degree days in Arizona and 5 days to hang out together. We spent a lot of time in and out of the pool and inside the air-conditioned house.

Ken took us to Shooters World.  A couple of us had never shot a gun so this was an opportunity to try our skills.  Erica and I have really small hands and boy was it a stretch to reach the trigger.  Ken owns his own 9mm that we got to try and we rented another Springfield 9mm and an AK47.  The guys had the most fun, but that was expected.

A road trip took us to South Mountain Park just South of Phoenix.  The windy mountain road took us 5.5 miles to Dobbins Lookout and spectacular valley wide views. Ken pointed out other mountains off in the distance and said "I live over there" as he pointed off to his left.

Never did see the famous Arizona Monsoons or the Haboob (dust storm).  On our last nights we did see some great lightening and storms off in the distance but nothing came close enough to photograph. Another adventure gone by. Great memories shared by all.
