Who's idea was it to go to the Hampton Beach Seafood Festival in New Hampshire? Well there is a first and last time for everything. The crowds were unbearable. For an event that has gone on for years they sure haven't figured it out. Too many people in a poorly laid out venue.
The rest of our weekend to the north shore was wonderful. We were with our friends Don and Joyce from New Jersey and enjoyed exploring Cape Ann.

They That Go Down to the Sea in Ships

Spent some time in Gloucester looking out over the harbor and walking along the memorial park.

Beautiful old houses grace the road along the waterfront. A place to reflect and remember those lost at sea.
In Rockport we took in all the cute little shops and homes. A very quaint artsy community that Joyce remembered from her college days and a relative that once had a gallery here.

Then we found the funky
Paper House in Pigeon Cove. This house, made of Boston newspapers, was started in 1922 by Elis Stenman and his family. The newspapers were made into different layers, pasted and folded. Approx. 100,000 copies of newspapers have been used in the construction of the house and furniture.
