Doggie Sitting in Arizona

Sometimes I wonder "what am I thinking?" and then I find myself in Arizona in August.  It has been 105 degrees nearly every day since we arrived. The water in the pool is at 91 degrees.

Austin and I agreed to house and dog sit while friends went to "bike week" in Sturgis, SD.  The Mills and the Jedds are enjoying the craziness of Sturgis and we are enjoying quiet time in air-conditioned comfort.

We headed out early one morning for a short hike at White Tank Mountain Park. We followed the droppings of a pair of goats who had just finished their walk.

Austin and I hiked to the waterfall but found it dried up.   What a surprise in the blistering hot Southwest.  We found just a little trickle of water falling to a small pool of water.

But in that pool of water were tons of pollywog's, tiny toads and this fluffy bug that looks like a wholly bear with legs.
