We started the month with the Atalaya Holiday Celebration and the Holiday Festival of Lights.

This week we had the good fortune to attend two theater shows.
"The South's Grandest Christmas Show" at the Alabama Theatre was terrific.
In 1993, country music group Alabama had a desire to return to their musical roots in Myrtle Beach where they originally perfected their unique sound. Alabama wanted to give back to the fans, thus, the Alabama Theatre was born.
We enjoyed a wonderful Christmas Show that featured many great performers and musicians.
Ricky Mokel, AKA Grant Turner was hilarious (and I don't usually like comedy) as he entertained between sets. The show also featured Tammy Cochran, a country singer known for "Angels in Waiting" a song written to honor her two brothers who passed away from cystic fibrosis.
Loved Rudolf !

The show at the Carolina Opry, "The Christmas Show of the Show" was also entertaining.
Rocky Fretz on the piano was very good. The show also featured "All That! clogging group, season 1 of America's Got Talent.
During the week we also visited the South Carolina Cotton Museum and the Button Museum.

The cotton plant usually grows to a height of 6 feet. The flowers, when they first open are creamy with buff colored stamen. The second day the flower changes to pink and then to a deep red or magenta. On the third day the flower drops off and a small pod covered by 3 leaflets is left, this is called the square. The square matures and becomes the boll. When the boll ripens, it bursts open and reveals the cotton lint..
