Cold December

The Fosters are home from Florida and settling in for a long winters night.
On our way home we planned to stop at a tree farm and cut a tree for Christmas. We stopped at the Pleasant Street Tree Farm in Rehobeth, Mass. Their web site said to come and have fun but it was anything but fun. At the ramp to the barn, just off the parking lot, we were greeted by a ragging pit bull who came from behind the barn and attached Rigley. It was a very traumatic episode that resulted in Rigley requiring 6 staples in his leg. The picture is from two weeks after the attack.

It has been a difficult two weeks for Rigley, no licking, no rough housing with the neighborhood puppy Alvin, and worst of all, no swimming. Today was his first water play at Forest Beach in Chatham. Hoping the salt water will help with healing.

We went to Chatham to visit it Austin at what we refer to as the "house that Austin bought". Not quite, but what he did buy was all the wood in a house that is going to be demolished in March.

The whole house is tongue & groove knotty pine and the floors are all wide pine. The doors are his and anything else that is left he can take too. 6 rooms and 2 baths worth of boards!

So you might ask, what will he do with it all ? Hm? it is for the upstairs in our barn.
