A Happy 4th to All.
We gathered bright an early at the
Mass Maritime Academy
in Bourne along side the Cape Cod Canal.
This was the staging area for the first of two 4th of July Parades that the Barnstable County Fair would participate in today. The Community Events Group brings our cow to as many events as possible to help spread the word about the fair. We walked the parade route handing out discount coupons, posters, balloons and all those Mardi Graz beads Austin and I brought back from New Orleans and Mobile, Alabama.
At the end of the Bourne parade, we traveled to the Foster Farmyard some 20 miles down the road. Cars were slowing down to get a good moo as they passed the cow going down the road. In West Barnstable, the sun came out as we re-grouped and had a little cook-out .
After a couple hours, we moooved on to the Hyannis parade. Again we handed out those coupons and such. The Barnstable County Fair starts in two weeks.
Check out this green horse ! He was great addition to the parade down Main Street in Hyannis. I think he is a cast member in the Wizard of Oz. The summer production of the Wizard of Oz starts July 10th at Barnstable High School.
Next place to see the cow could be
at
the
Falmouth Street Fair on Wednesday, July 9th. We need to see
if the stall can accommodate
her at that event.
