Huntington Beach
The Tourbuggie arrived on November 8th at Huntington Beach State Park in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. The park consists of 2500 acres in Georgetown County approx. 15 miles south of Myrtle Beach. We will be here for 3 months serving as Atalaya Hosts.
The campground has 139 sites, most have water and electric and several have full hook-ups. After setting up camp and settling in, Rigley joined us for a walk along the 3 miles of pristine Huntington Beach.
The state park offers many opportunities to explore and experience the great outdoors. In season
( Apr-Oct ) there are many park programs including alligator tours. From the nature center you can walk the long marsh boardwalk . Along the causeway and boardwalk birders come to see some of the more than 300 species recorded here.
Bring your bike and walking shoes, there are 26 miles of bike paths meandering from Murrells Inlet, through the park to Litchfield Beach.
While at the park, which is open year round, visit Atalaya, the winter home of Archer and Anna Huntington. Atalaya is open year round and self guided audio tours are always available. As Atlaya hosts, we'll be there in the courtyard selling admission tickets.
