Our Tour Buggie has hit the road. We are traveling the Canadian Maritime's with 3 other couples, friends from the NY Gulfstream RV group that we belong to. I think we've had two sunny days and a couple sunny afternoons. The weather has not been great but we are making the best of it.
The Lupine are in full bloom along the highways and byways from Maine and all through the Maritimes. Beautiful !
The group met met up in Bar Harbor, ME for our first two nights. It rained both days making it difficult to enjoy Acadia Nat'l Park. Dined out at Lund's where they cooked the lobsters outside in big pots.
Diane and Bill Gallo and Diane and Austin on our day exploring.
On Prince Edward Island we enjoyed a mix bag of weather. Rigley got to run on Brackley Beach and just a bit down the beach we came upon a wedding.
Lighthouses, beach combing, antiquing, The Bottle House, and Green Gables were all things that we enjoyed.
In Truro Nova Scotia, the Law's, Gallo's and Foster's enjoyed Victoria Park, it's trails, rivers and waterfalls. The downtown showcased wood carvings along its street that were very interesting. In the late afternoon we watched the tidal bore.
Next day, the sun finally came out for an awesome day on the Shubenacadie River, AKA: The Shubie . Five of us hopped on a zodiac with the Shubenacadie River Runners in Maitland, NS. For 3 hours we rode the boar and the resulting 6 foot waves. Laughing our heads off as the waves crashed over us. We were soaking wet but the water was surprisingly warm. After the ride we took hot showers and got into dry clothes for a BBQ. The Cowboy Steak was bad! We wouldn't bother with that option again.
Drizzle and fog greeted us in Annapolis Royal. More antiquing, and beach combing. Enjoyed an interesting late night graveyard tour.
Tonight we are sitting by a babbling brook around a cozy fire making Smore's.
