Heading East

Back in the States and we have made the turn East. Didn't take us long after leaving Canada to return. We were just over the border in Glacier National Park and were a little disappointed. Must have been because we had just left the most beautiful mountains and glaciers back in Jasper NP. What glaciers are left in Montana were hardly visible, they say they will be all gone in 2020. We went back into Canada to Waterton Peace Park (the Canadian side of Glacier).
The village of Waterton Lakes was like being in Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone. Mammoth had elk all over and Waterton had deer.

The highlight of Glacier NP was seeing a grizzly and two cubs 200 yards off the side of Many Glacier Road.

We put in a lot of miles for a couple days. Not much to see through Montana and Wyoming. Miles and miles of rolling hills and hay bales. Occasionally a deer or antelope would come in to the picture but not much else.

Custer National Cemetery and Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument were our next stop. This is the site of Custer's Last Stand. It is large park over looking Little Bighorn River Valley in Montana. The park memorializes one of the last armed efforts of the Northern Plains Indians to preserve their ancestrial way of life.

We have arrived in our 23 state, if you count the two Provinces in Canada. South Dakota will keep us busy for a couple days. Sturgis was crazy and it's 5 days before the start of Bike Week
Rigley does not like motorcycles especially hundreds of them. Motorcycles are lined up everywhere . In Deadwood, Diane and Rigley watched the sites while Austin shopped for casino chips.
