Back in Ohio

On the third day away from home, we stayed in Winesburg, Ohio. Holmes County and home to a large number of Amish. That was June 9th and 10th. We have come full circle having returned to the area again this week. We camped in Berlin, OH this time.

We have visited (or passed through) 23 states and two Canadian Provinces. Started counting the states when we crossed into Rhode Island. The crops are fully grown now and the 2 foot corn stalks at the "Field of Dreams" in early June are now 8-10 feet tall. Harvesting has started and the corn is yummy.

In Berlin, the Amish were harvesting potatoes and the Foster's were visiting antique shops,

feasting on a great buffet at Der Dutchman in Walnut Creek and shopping at Lehman's in Kidron.

Lehman's was founded in 1945 to serve local Amish and others without electricity. The 32,000 foot store still sells thousands of non-electric products you thought they quit making years ago. The walls are lined with antiques and the rooms are filled with everything and anything. Nice place to shop and browse.

There was a pig auction at Lehman's and there are a couple piglets in the buggy we followed down the road.

It has been a great adventure that is ending briefly with a Cape Cod visit. Hitting the road again in mid September back to PA and possibly to the Upper Penninsula of Michigan.
