Heading East

The New Year has arrived and with the turn of the calendar, we are now heading East. New Years Eve Day was great fun at the tent. The final flowers were put on and Studio Concept workers, Sesame Street people and volunteers all gathered around for the judging. We were all given small tambourine drums to make noise and sing along as the float came to life with music and animation as the float was being judged. We got three instruments autographed by the real characters on the front of the float for McKenna, Emily and Jake Hedman. Don't tell their parents where they came from. We want to be invited to another cookout this summer.

Emeril Lagasse even showed up at our float. He was the Grand Marshall and made an appearance at all the floats. I have posted a couple of my favorite parade shots, that 50 foot Indian was awesome.

We are now heading East , back home by way of the Gulf Coast.

A last look at California, Imperial Sand Dunes, as we make our way back into Arizona and thru the fat part of Texas. We may be in that state for a while.

AWESOME pics of float building and decorating!! You are doing good, Diane! We saw the float go by on TV and felt that personal connection - after all, I've "been" to the Rose Parade now!! We have the parade on DVR so you can watch it when you arrive in the highlight of your trip, ORANGE PARK, FLORIDA. We all know it's everyone's favorite destination!
